The cause of this is because the file path name is too long for Windows to read (Windows has a character limit of 256 characters) 

The main reason your having this issue is because Microsoft Flight Simulator decided to locate the sims location in the users appdata path. So now our installer is not going to uncompress some files because you installed your sim in the default location. The other reason is our latest project has some very long directory paths.

SOLUTION 1: (RECOMMENDED)

Two options: FOR NON STEAM VERSION ONLY!


1. Install your sim in a different location. This is a full reinstall and will take a while. I suggest the C: folder location or Documents or another internal drive drive. 

===or use a faster method====

1. Move your Community, Microsoft Flight Simulator and Official folders to another location like the locations mentioned step above. Once you run the sim it will prompt you for an update. Click the text for the folder location and navigate to the new location. 






SOLUTION 2: (RECOMMENDED)

1. You need to use MSFS ADDON LINKER. Install this program. Link is here.

2. During the installation change the directory to the addon linker location rather than the community folder. Now the sim wil load products from this linker location.

3. Now in the future when you run our installer it will autofind the installation and offer to uninstall. Or you can go to the windows apps and uninstall from there.




SOLUTION 3:

1. Choose another location on your PC like downloads to install.

2. After it installs to this shorter path and has no error then copy that folder and paste it in your community folder.

3. Run the installer again and it will autofind your last installtion in the downloads folder and run the uninstaller. When the uninstaller is finished and closes you will still see the installer process remaining. Click cancel to close as we do not want to install again.
(This step is important as the uninstaller can get corrupted if the temp locations is missing the product.) 

4. If you get an update in the future delete the product from the community folder before proceeding. 

5. When running the installer for an update it will not locate the last installation and allow you to repeat the steps.
