GENERAL INFORMATION

The Learjet Model 35 and Model 36 are a series of American multi-role business jets and military transport aircraft manufactured by Learjet.

The aircraft is powered by two Garrett TFE731-2 turbofan engines. Its cabin can be arranged for 6-8 passengers. The longer-range Model 36 has a shortened passenger area to provide more space in the aft fuselage for fuel tanks.

The engines are mounted nacelles on the sides of the aft fuselage. The wings are equipped with single-slotted flaps. The wingtip fuel tanks distinguish the design from other aircraft having similar functions.

The Model 35A is an upgraded Model 35 with TFE731-2-2B engines and a range of 2,789 miles, with a fuel capacity of 931 US gallons (3,524 L) with refueling accomplished at ground level through each wingtip tank. It was introduced in 1976, replacing the 35. Over 600 35As were built, with a production line that ended in 1993.

SIMULATION INFORMATION

The Learjet 35A for MSFS 2024 is a complete overhaul of our original MSFS 2020 product. Rather than a simple port, we rebuilt the aircraft from the ground up to take full advantage of the MSFS 2024 platform—bringing in new native systems, updated effects, and major new functionality across the entire aircraft.

Over the course of roughly 10 months, we transformed the 2020 release into a fully native 2024 experience, including all expansion packs, plus a new long-range configuration featuring Long Tip Tanks mod and an optional ventral fin mod for improved stability on extended flights.

This new version introduces MSFS 2024’s modern system architecture across the aircraft, including Modern Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Fuel systems, backed by 179 working circuit breakers. You’ll also find significantly expanded environmental and immersion effects, with improved exterior icing, new surface rain effects, enhanced windshield rain and bloom effects, including new Boris audio engine sounds.

A major focus of the 2024 overhaul is long-term ownership and operational depth. We added a comprehensive wear and tear simulation and a full failure system for Free Flight (where this level of persistence and maintenance isn’t provided by the sim’s Career mode). Failures can be managed using three modes—MTBF, Speed, and Schedule—and are designed to reflect real usage over time. In addition, we’ve included three Career mission types that match the aircraft’s variants: CAR_Cabin (Medium Cargo Transport), COF_Cabin (Search and Rescue), and PRC_Cabin (Charter Service)—so you can fly the Lear in role-appropriate operations while still benefiting from the aircraft’s wear-and-tear and reliability systems.

To round out the day-to-day experience, the 2024 Learjet 35A adds a deeper preflight workflow (chocks, pitot covers, windshield cover, engine covers, wear-and-tear status, and control surface checks) plus a tablet app integrated into the default MSFS 2024 tablet, including avionics selection, Failure & wear and tear, takeoff & approach calculators, and live pneumatics and fuel pages with real world fueling. Combined with refined flight handling through MSFS 2024’s updated flight model options and CFD-based aerodynamic improvements, this is the most complete and immersive Learjet 35A we’ve produced.

With help from two active real-world Learjet 35A pilots and a retired Learjet 35 instructor, we pushed the limits on systems depth and simulation accuracy throughout this project. You’ll have three panel options, including support for third-party GTN 750 avionics as well as the Working Title GNS 530. And for the first time in MSFS history, we’re also bringing the PMS50 GTN 750 to Xbox.

Because this aircraft is highly detailed, the user manual focuses on system items and reference information rather than step-by-step training. We strongly recommend learning the aircraft through video tutorials—both from our channel and the community—which are linked on the product page of our main website. Plan on spending some time learning the aircraft as you would the real one.
